What are phobias?

"A pathologically strong fear of a particular event or thing."   For example; Spiders; Heights; Enclosed spaces and flying are some of the most common.

Phobias are different from ordinary fears as they are often deemed irrational and are specific to a particular thing or situation.

Sometimes we learn or "catch" a phobia from someone else. For example; a young child will watch an adult respond to things or situations and learn that, a spider for example is something to be afraid of.

A person suffering with a phobia may be content with their life except when the "phobic situation or thing" is involved and if frequently experienced can be inhibiting and cause distress.

So, if you have a phobia, you may like to think about the following questions:

How does my phobia affect me?

Is my phobia taking up a lot of my time?

Is my phobia forcing me to do things the hard way?

Is my phobia affecting other relationships in my life?

Is my phobia affecting my physical condition?

Stop going round in circles, it is time to break free.

If yes to some or all of the above, Hypnotherapy along with NLP (Neuro-linguistic-programming) can help reduce and eradicate your phobia.

De-sensitization techniques connected with the phobia and the use of hypnosis are used to help re-program how your mind perceives your phobia and take the "charge" out of the thought or memory.

Imagine how you would feel and behave if you did not have your phobia........
